Everard Williams: Instant Minimalist

Rising from the Ashes with Everard Williams In this deeply personal and emotional episode, I join my longtime friend, mentor, and Chair of the Photo and Imaging Department at Art Center College of Design,Everard Williams, as he walks me through the remnants of his home, destroyed in the Eaton fires in Altadena. This isn't just a conversation about loss—it's about resilience, rebuilding, and the human capacity to move forward in the face of devastation. Everard shares his journey of navigating the aftermath of losing both his and his parents' homes to the wildfire, reflecting on the memories that once filled those walls and the path he must now carve for the future. As we stand among the ruins, he offers insights into how he copes, his plans for rebuilding, and the emotional weight of witnessing an entire community displaced by the flames. This episode is more than a story about destruction—it's about finding beauty in the ashes, the role of creativity in healing, and the strength required to start over when everything is gone.
