However, recent flooding has dramatically impacted the trip duration to Ramechhap, with travel times increasing from the usual 4 hours to approximately 8 hours.While Helicopter services still operate directly from Kathmandu to Lukla, they are not immune to disruptive weather conditions. This situation has resulted in instances where hundreds of adventurers have been stuck in Ramechhap awaiting their flight to Lukla. Hence, the episode aims to bring listeners up to speed on these changes and highlight the importance of having a contingency budget for emergencies such as hopping on a helicopter ride when fixed-wing flights become unfeasible.Additionally, we'll explore an intriguing offshoot at the end of the typical Base Camp itinerary.
