Everett Oliver - Voice Acting Director
from Time to Elevate Podcast · host Ann Lucente
Everett’s advice and quote from his Great Grandmother who lived to be 100 years old is “Don’t take any wooden nickels!" In other words, be careful who you trust. 🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋 Welcome to another episode of Time to Elevate Podcast! I’m your host, Ann Lucente, and I’m thrilled to have you with us today. I love that podcasting gives me the excuse to hang out with, laugh with, and be inspired by people who uplift me—many of whom I’m lucky enough to call friends. Today’s guest fits that description perfectly! We first crossed paths a few years ago at a Teach-a-thon in NYC, and from that moment, I knew there was something special about him. He has a rare gift for truly seeing people, almost as if he can look right into your soul. Now, even though he's been soaking up the sunshine in LA for quite some time, don’t be fooled—he’s a true New Yorker at heart. That no-nonsense, direct, and truthful attitude? That’s what connects us so well. He tells it like it is, with no sugar-coating. Sure, his straightforwardness might intimidate some, but trust me, underneath it all, he’s got a heart of gold. Before we kick things off, I’d love to tell you a little bit about him. His personal journey began in the Big Apple, took him to Georgia where he graduated from Clark Atlanta University, and then led him to Los Angeles, where he has been working in the voice-over industry for over three decades. He has contributed to hit animated primetime shows including The Simpsons, King of the Hill, Men in Black, Jackie Chan Adventures, Hellboy, and X-Men: Evolution, just to name a few. He has also collaborated with animation industry giants such as Disney and Columbia Tri-Star. One of the most valuable experiences that he brings to the table is his time as a booth director for an LA-based talent agency. Whether you’re new to voice acting, in the middle of your journey, or a seasoned pro, he’s got what it takes to move you to the next level or keep you at the top. His no-nonsense, straightforward approach to coaching and teaching keeps you grounded, keeps you real, and keeps you true to who you are. Without further ado, let’s welcome my no-nonsense, straightforward, and intensely real friend—voice acting director, animation coach, demo director, and so much more—the one and only Everett Oliver!
