Send us Fan MailEvery Day Sacred, Everywhere Holy“I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb.”- Revelation 21:22We build or churches, and temples, and mosques… We set aside certain days and times… We keep our customs and traditions and perform our rituals in order to help us experience the sacred, in order to help us experience divine transcendent presence. Too often we live the rest of our lives wholly disconnected from the holy. We live our everyday lives both profanely and mundanely. We live our everyday lives as if God doesn’t exist, or if God does, God is a long way away. The vision of Revelation is one in which humanity becomes aware of God’s immanence, of Emmanuel, God with us. In this vision every day is a holy day, everywhere is a sacred place. God is not out there somewhere. Instead we live our lives aware of and connected to God and each other, as we live and move and have our being in God. (Acts 17:28)I’m Horace McMillon.
