Every Mistborn Book, Ranked Worst to Best
from The Bookshelf Chronicles Hosted by AC Wilson
Brandon Sanderson's acclaimed Mistborn fantasy franchise spans two distinct eras separated by roughly three centuries, encompassing both the Original Trilogy and the Wax and Wayne series. The narrative begins in a bleak domain governed by a harsh monarch where protagonists like Vin and Kelsier utilize a distinctive magic system called Allomancy to spark rebellion. Later installments transition into a steampunk-infused environment featuring investigators such as Wax and Wayne who navigate intricate political conflicts, dangerous cults, and mysterious artifacts. While early entries are praised for robust worldbuilding and satisfying resolutions, subsequent books occasionally face criticism for slow pacing or relying too heavily on connections to a broader Cosmere universe. Ultimately, the literary collection remains widely celebrated for its imaginative scope, engaging character growth, and memorable plot twists. "Open a book. Discover a world."
