Every Role Matters In The Kingdom

from Day by Day from Lifeword

Courageous faith isn’t about the spotlight, it’s about obedience to the King wherever He places you.   #daybydaylw   Interested in learning more about becoming a devoted follower of Christ? Reflection: Abishai and Benaiah weren’t in the “Big Three,” but they were still mighty men. Abishai struck down 300 men. Benaiah fought a lion in a snowy pit and killed an Egyptian warrior with his own spear. These were not side characters. They were warriors in their own right. And yet, the text tells us, “they did not attain to the three.” That could feel like a slight, but it’s not. Instead, it’s a reminder that God assigns different roles in the kingdom—and all are valuable. Abishai and Benaiah weren’t less faithful or less courageous. They were simply called to serve in different places. Their reward wasn’t in a title—it was in their obedience. This is so important for us to grasp. You may not hold the microphone. You may not be the one in front. But your place in God’s kingdom is no less significant. Faithfulness where God has placed you is the mark of courageous faith. Serve well—whether you’re in the pit with the lion or holding the line behind the scenes. Prayer Points: Thank God for your role in His kingdom, whatever it may be. Ask Him for faithfulness and humility in service. Pray to celebrate the victories of others without envy. 2 People to pray for Sara Filimon, our missionary in Romania The Russian Lifeword broadcast for the people of Russia & the USA Summary: Courageous faith isn’t about the spotlight—it’s about obedience to the King, wherever He places you.

The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
