Every Rom Com 22: Happy Death Day

This week Every Rom Com kicks off our Horror Rom Com series as Cybil and Jen discuss “Happy Death Day” - a time loop slasher film with a side of romantic comedy. We’ll discuss Blumhouse Productions, director Christopher Landon, and a cast of up and coming actors that made this movie great. We’ll talk about our favorite horror movies, our favorite time loop movies, and how this movie intersects with both genres. And we’ll talk about what it means to make a feminist horror film, and how “Happy Death Day” lives up to that title, as we dig into this 2017 hit starring Jessica Rothe and Israel Broussard. 0:00-9:44 Introduction, Introducing our Horror Rom Com Series, Haunted Tik Tok, Cybil’s Haunted House, Our Favorite Horror Movies 9:44-17:33 Trailer, Basic Info, Interesting Facts, General Impressions https://culturedvultures.com/the-interesting-story-behind-the-happy-death-day-franchise/ https://www.sbnation.com/nba/2017/2/18/14655070/king-cake-baby-new-orleans-pelicans-all-star-game-2017 https://www.wwltv.com/article/news/local/orleans/creator-of-king-cake-baby-sues-universal-studios-over-happy-death-day-character/289-8adf2b9e-536b-4d21-9c9e-160aa382bd01 17:33-27:51 Cast & Crew In-Depth https://deadline.com/2015/05/blumhouse-panel-produced-by-conference-1201435034/ https://www.denofgeek.com/movies/jessica-rothe-spills-what-was-really-fun-about-happy-death-day/ 27:51-31:18 Happy Death Day as a Hybrid of Genres, Happy Death Day Compared to Traditional Slasher Movies 31:18-41:30 The First Day, Before the Time Loop 41:30-53:44 Time Loop Movies, The First Loop A Source for Discovering Time Loop Movies (Note - There are some inaccuracies on this list, but it gets points for having an extensive collection you can use to explore!) https://runpee.com/all-groundhog-day-type-movies-the-ultimate-list/?fbclid=IwAR3IxIAHrvhB06Vey-Xncyji3odnMx_9BxBm4gZwjcJ7yyJP5QV8EEY1TWc 53:44-1:05:23 The Second Loop, The Third Loop, The Time Loop Montage Get Tree’s Dumpstaphunk Shirt: https://www.teepublic.com/baseball-tee/2359226-dumpstaphunk Dumpstaphu...
