Every Step Led To This Moment

In March of 2025, my son was just about to turn one year old. My wife and I were holding on for dear life. She had just started her own business. I was thinking about whether the career track I was on was for me. All while keeping a tiny human alive. We were just trying to figure it all out. Keeping our heads above water. Throughout the winter, panic attacks paralyzed me to the point of laying on the floor thinking it was all over. A combination of stress and overwhelm at work, feeling deficient as a father, and a failure of a husband, all came down like a midnight bombing raid that nearly destroyed me. As the signs of spring began with lighter days and warmer temperatures, I would similarly emerge from this emotional and psychological wreckage for a brief moment on a Tuesday evening with as clear a head as I’d had in weeks.
