from Unban Coolies · host Christopher Lau

As Associate Director for EveryLibrary Peter Bromberg brings over 30 years of library experience to his work advocating for libraries on local, state, and national levels. He provides pro bono consulting to librarians, boards, associations, ballot committees, and watchdog groups, helping them to fight censorship through the use of effective messaging, political strategies to build coalitions and community support. As Executive Director of the Salt Lake City Library from 2016-2021, Peter applied an equity lens to board and policy development, organizational structure, and operations, garnering a Distinguished Service Award from the American Society for Public Administrators (ASPA) for his work in eliminating inequitable barriers to service. In 2019, Peter was honored with the Utah Library Association’s Legislative Award for Excellence in Political Affairs for his work leading the successful fight against the cancellation of research databases in school libraries following unsubstantiated claims that they contained inappropriate materials.
