Evil and False Teachings: 2. Tradition

God says that he visits (punishes) us, the children, for the sins (iniquities) of our fathers. That is why when we confess our sins to him, we should also confess the sins of our fathers. One main means by which the sins of our fathers continue to be passed on to us is by "traditions" handed down to us over countless generations. God warns us about "traditions" and shows that many are sinful. We must carefully analyze the traditions we keep and cast out any that are sinful.
