evolution of deep state, does SA have a cause for concern?

from The Forum@8 Hosted by SAfm

On the Forum@8 this morning, we look at what many have come to term "deep state'. - The deep state we're told, comes into being when there is a confluence of political, business, intelligence and criminal interests, that are a mutually reinforcing and beneficial. It is in the deep state, that a reciprocal relationship exists, between the wealthy, and people who abuse their political muscle. It's an unholy alliance which always results in the abuse of state resources, and a persistent erosion of the rule of law. On the programme this morning, we invite you, the listener, to give us your sense of the term " deep state'….and… if it exists,....should there be cause for concern? We also have Prof Steven Friedman (Director at Centre for the Study of Democracy at Rhodes University and the University of Johannesburg) AND Ralph Mathekga Political Analyst
