Evolving Gender Roles - LLC Panel Discussion

from LLC- Ladies Leadership Coalition · host Ladies Leadership Coalition

Liz Wayne, Sharon Siar and Charlie Saffro take a deep dive into how gender roles have been evolving both at home and in the professional world. The ladies start off this panel discussion with a market update on recruiting in logistics, helping new entrants into the brokerage world, and provide information about fuel volatility, spot rates, capacity and more! "The only thing that stays constant in logistics is change." The main topic of this episode is about the evolution of gender roles and how we can support one another through this massive societal transition that has been happening over the past 50 years. Women have obviously made huge advancements in the workplace, but there is still more that can be done. Are women carrying too much of the burden? We think so. Human nature makes us default to women for certain tasks, like planning an office birthday party. In order to remedy burnout and to prevent bitterness or tension, communication is KEY. And we have to rethink our standards: "Do we want help or do we not want help?" There are "working moms" but why aren't their "working dads"? The narrative needs to change.
