Evolving role of ctDNA in breast cancer

With the advent of next-generation sequencing technologies, circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) has now become an important player in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of breast cancer. In early breast cancer, the clearance of ctDNA is associated with improved pathological complete response following neoadjuvant therapy and may be important in treatment selection in patients with advanced disease.
