“ Exile, Restoration, & Understanding Jesus,” from Matthew 2:16-18

There's a key component to understanding Jesus:  it's the Old Testament exile to Babylon for the people of God (think:  Daniel) and three things God had promised His people at the time He restored them.  Jesus, in His descending to earth, begins the completion of the end of the exile.  Get this concept in your head, and the Old and New Testaments—and Jesus—will start to fit together and make sense.  A great thing to learn here.
