Israel has left Egypt, but rather than going the direct route to the promised land, God leads them south (to avoid the Philistines). God hardens Pharaoh’s heart, yet again, and he pursues Israel, trapping them at the banks of the Red Sea. God steps in and we see the supernatural parting of the Red Sea (we discuss the different potential locations where this happened and the implications of each).
