Exodus 26 & 27

from Perfectly Imperfect Together · host Perfectly Imperfect Together

In Exodus 26 & 27, God gives specific beautiful details on how to build the tent of the Tabernacle where the Ark of the Covenant and God's presence will travel with His people. God wants more than anything to dwell with His people. The Ark is placed behind a second curtain and most of the nation will not always get to see the Ark. God wants His people to have faith and trust knowing that He is with them - even if we can't always see Him. We can trust and know that He is in our midst. To approach God, something must die to atone for our sins and sinful nature. An altar is built in front of the Tabernacle to allow for these sacrifices which bring cleansing and atonement for those sins. Jesus is our final Tabernacle, the Bread of life, and the Light of the world. When Jesus died on the cross for our eternal atonement and righteousness, the curtain was ripped open. There is no longer a separation between God and His people. Aaron and his sons were tasked with keeping the oil full in the lamps so they would burn continuously. We now have the Holy Spirit in our lives fanning the flame of God continuously for us every day of our lives.
