This is the renewing of the decimated wedding vows. The restoration of their broken relationship . This is God, responding to His unfaithful bride. And the first thing we see, in verses 1-9 is God fulfilling this promise to show Himself to Moses. We don’t know what Moses saw… if anything, but what he heard was amazing. Rather than coming in anger and wrath the Lord came in gentleness and kindness. Rather than emphasizing His power His sovereignty His holiness His justice or His rightful wrath against sin as the LORD shows Himself to Moses, what we see is His Grace.
