from Clay Cane Extended! · host Clay Cane, Arlando Jones
Exoneree, Arlando “Tray” Jones, spent over 37 years behind bars for a murder he did not commit in Baltimore in 1985, when he was just 16 years old. Mr. Jones’ father was shot and killed by police when Tray was 18 months old, leading to his mother’s struggles with alcoholism. With nowhere to go, Mr. Jones went to the streets and was looked after by drug dealers. The police knew Mr. Jones was not the murderer in this crime but had a witness claimed she saw him commit the crime. This witness would immediately recant, but Mr. Jones was convicted and sentenced to life plus 20 years. He was released in 2022 thanks to the Juvenile Restoration Act.
