EXP MKE: First Stage
from Experience Milwaukee Hosted by Experience Milwaukee LLC
This episode features Milwaukee’s First Stage, an organization that transforms lives through theater. Even more, it’s a place where young people can be who they want to be with no judgment. Steve is lucky enough to have a fun conversation with JT Backes, Academy Director at First Stage. JT lives and breathes the passion of the organization. So much that you can hear the emotion in his voice as he shares a story of feedback from a parent of a First Stage student. How does First Stage work and how can you or, if you have them, your kids get involved? How are skills beyond theater developed in the young people who participate? What kinds of programs exist and where the heck do performances take place? All the answers and more in this entertaining episode. Experience Milwaukee has its home studio in the Transfer Pizzeria Cafe, and our official beer partner is New Barons Brewing Cooperative. And if you haven’t heard, check out our new project at TextMKE.com, Milwaukee’s only daily text on what’s happening in and around the city. Thanks for listening. Love you, Milwaukee.
