Expansion Of Free Contraception Scheme To Pharmacies

Health Minister Jennifer Carroll MacNeill is seeking Cabinet approval for new legislation that would allow pharmacists to renew contraception prescriptions, reducing the need for women to return to their GP for repeat prescriptions.     The move is aimed at improving access to contraception, expanding the role of community pharmacists, and easing pressure on GP services.    To discuss what the changes could mean for patients and pharmacists, Alan Morrissey spoke with Mark Lynch, pharmacist with Mary Joe Duffy Pharmacists in Ennis.
