Experiencing Christ's Sufferings and Comfort

We begin a short expository series through 2 Corinthians 1:1-11 this morning. We will introduce Paul's encouragement for us to not trust in ourselves but to fully trust in God by examining the comfort with which God consoles during times of troubles. It is important to define God's character as a Father of mercies and the only true God of comfort. Once we have examined His character we answer the question, why does God comfort us in times of affliction, why do we share in these experiences and our commitment to encourage and console others as Christ does for us.
