Explaining the silence and qualifying the called

from TTRT Podcast · host Nicholas Kyanda

The Purpose of this podcast is to try to explain the reason for the 8 month silence and to chart a way forward. While we do that we will also explore the idea behind biblical principles and why they matter. We will also help young people understand what qualifies them to speak for God based on 1 Timothy 4:12 (Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity NIV) and James 3:1 (Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness ESV). Here we learn how to approach a skeptical world as well as how to tread carefully as those who are instructed to teach. There is another useful verse that we did not mention in the pod which cautions us when helping those who have fallen. Galatians 6:1 (Brothers and sisters, even if a person is caught in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual are to restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you are not tempted as well NASB). Here we share the importance of the spiritual posture of those who are called to counsel others and lift them up. For referecne stories we also share the TV manual illustration connecting this idea to scripture as life’s manual and therefore qualifying those who have applied themselves to scripture reading, application and teaching as ideal spokespersons in this life journey.
