Lesson 66:[OBLIGATIONS TOWARDS THE COMPANIONS AND A MENTION OF THEIR VIRTUES]One of the fundamentals of Ahlus Sunnah wal-Jama'ah is the purity of their hearts and tongues towards the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. It is with this that Allah, Most High, has described them: 'Those who have come after them say: 'Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in Imaan. Do not put any resentment in our hearts towards those who have Imaan. Our Lord, You are All-Gentle, Most Merciful.’ ' [al-Hashr: 10] They also obey the saying of the Prophet ﷺ: 'Do not abuse my Companions, for by the One in whose hand is my soul, ifany one of you spend gold like Uhud (in charity) it will not equal a mudd, or even a half, of what they spend in charity.'
