The world is a big place. Spend enough time doing something and you forget that—you’re convinced that the people you know, the places you visit, and the job you perform are it. To the extent that all these things feel like a good fit for you, that’s not an issue. It’s when you feel stuck that it’s especially important to understand and be curious about the people you haven’t met, the places you have not been, and the work you haven’t tried. Once sufficiently interested and curious, it’s up to you to decide whether you want to remain a resident in the little piece of the world you’ve carved out or if it’s time to become an explorer to see what’s over the hill.
