Is Jesus really God? Setting aside the question of who Jesus is not, this message states the claim plainly from Colossians 2: in Christ all the fullness of deity dwells. C. S. Lewis's path from atheism to defending Christianity frames the inquiry. Four lines of evidence are offered. Fulfilled prophecy, with hundreds of Old Testament predictions met against staggering odds; Jesus' own repeated claims to deity at his trial in Matthew 26; the resurrection as confirmation of his identity; and the record of history. The historical case rests on the martyrdom of the apostles and the conversion of the empire that had killed Christians. The landing is Lewis's trilemma: a man saying what Jesus said is liar, lunatic, or Lord, but not merely a good moral teacher. What say you?
