Explore God — 5.5.19 Sermon
from LifeWell Messages
Is there a God? This message answers from lived experience, recounting seasons, a mother kept alive seven years after a stroke, a child lost in a drowning, a family killed in an accident, where the question pressed hard against faith. The core image is faith as an ever-enlarging circle whose outer edge gets pushed by circumstance. God is not threatened by our doubts; they are the growing ground of belief. Psalm 19 and Romans 1 carry the argument from design: a cabin in the woods implies a builder, and nature left alone devolves rather than evolves, pointing to a Creator whose fingerprints are everywhere. The landing moves from nature to us. Through the Spirit, God takes on flesh again in his people; the church is now the world's opportunity to see God. The weighty application: are people around us recognizing him?
