Travis's journey into the world of outdoor adventure began in 1987 when he started instructing climbing and paddling. He achieved 2nd place in the Junior Nationals Wild Water Paddling and went on to instruct whitewater and flatwater paddling at Boy Scout camps. His experience extends to serving as a Climbing Tower Director and High Adventure leader for the Boy Scouts. Travis graduated with an academic diploma and received an honorable discharge from the Marine Corps Infantry. He later became the Climbing Director for Odyssey Adventure Racing, a team paddler for Silverbirch Canoe Company, and the Roanoke Programs Director for Beyond Boundaries. Above all, Travis is a devoted husband and father to two amazing kids.
