We will discuss the impact on children and what occurs in the home and approaches to prevention that take cultural factors into account, including education and awareness tailored to specific communities. Dr. Samuel R. Benbow is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Work and Gerontology at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. He worked several years in the mental health field in roles such as intensive case manager, intensive and resource case management supervisor, behavioral specialist consultant, mobile therapist, and director of residential treatment facilities prior to his tenure as a full-time tenured track faculty member at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania in 1998.
