Exploring Messy Leadership with Alyssa Gallagher

Alyssa Gallagher, author of the just-released book Messy Leadership, shares her insights on embracing complexity and uncertainty in educational leadership, a topic she has explored through the experiences of 20,000 school leaders. ABOUT Alyssa Gallagher co-leads BTS Spark in North America, helping school leaders access leadership coaching and professional development. She has 20 years in K-12 public education as a teacher, principal and assistant superintendent. One of Alyssa’s great successes was the transformation of the Los Altos, CA school district which became a leader in educational innovation and was featured on national media, including CNN and 60 Minutes. Alyssa also worked with Sal Kahn to pilot Khan Academy through that district. She has coauthored books on design thinking, and her latest ASCD book Messy Leadership, was co-authored with Rosie Connor.
