Exploring Our Heavenly Treasures 1
from Daily Voice Devotional with Niyi Adekunle Hosted by Niyi Adekunle
Monday 11th January 2021 A beautiful Monday to you in the name of Jesus. We thank God for this year and we are gradually moving on in the year and we trust God it will be a wonderful year for you in the name of Jesus. Genesis 2:19 (NKJV) 19 Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. The lesson I learnt from this verse is that whatever you call someone or something is what it will be for you. It is important we are careful and deliberate in saying what God wants us to say about a situation. He said to children of Israel in the book of Numbers 14:28 (NKJV) 28 Say to them, 'As I live,' says the Lord, 'just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you: God had told them that the promise land was a land flowing with milk and honey but they called it an evil land. The Bible called it an evil report. Why? Because they were saying something different from what God was saying. Anything we report or say that is different from what God is saying is an evil report. Therefore, it important to say what God is saying about our situation. Call the year good, call your situation good because as you keep saying it that is what it will be for you. Like we said earlier, all through this month we’ll be discussing “Your Sure Investment.” We want to start this year clearly with God. This week we will focusing on “Exploring Our Heavenly Treasures.” It is one thing to know that you have treasures in heaven and it one thing to know what it entails and how to enjoy it. It is just like having a bank account with money in it, that’s not enough. To enjoy what is available to you, you will need to know other details about the account. So, it’s not enough you know you have treasures in heaven, you need to know the nature of the treasure in your heavenly account and how you can operate it. Throughout this week, we will try to look at these things. Let’s read Isaiah 12: 3 (NKJV) Therefore, with joy you will draw water From the wells of salvation. Also let’s read Hebrews 6: 9 (NKJV) 9 But, beloved, we are confident of better things concerning you, yes, things that accompany salvation, though we speak in this manner. Prophet Isaiah and the Hebrews were talking about something similar. Prophet Isaiah said there was something called the wells of salvation and to get anything out of this well which was for them, they needed joy; without joy they could not access it. And the Book of Hebrews talks about things that accompany salvation. From these scripture, it’s clear that there are some benefits that are ours once we receive salvation. These are some of the things we call the treasures in heavenly places and all through this week, we trust God that as we unveil them you see, understand and begin to enjoy them in Jesus name. God bless you. Enjoy a wonderful work week.
