Exploring the Friendship Recession

In 2023, Americans are spending more time alone than we ever have before. The lack of connection with friends and feeling of isolation has been dubbed the “friendship recession.” With our friendships and how we connect with others changing, we dive deep into the friendship recession topic. We discuss why this is happening, the feelings of isolation, how this creates more consumerism, divisiveness in friendships and online, perfectionism and the labels and identities that take over our lives.
