Iran is willing to do everything to keep their grip on Syria through their support of President Bashar al-Assad's regime. But with Russia's attention diverted to Ukraine, the Islamic Republic will struggle to manoeuvre the battlefield like it did in 2016.That's how Qutaiba Idlbi, a Senior Fellow from the Atlantic Council’s Syria Initiative, sees the rapid developments unfolding in Syria. Idlbi, who was imprisoned and tortured under the rule of Assad, told the Eye for Iran podcast that while Iran publicly provides support to Syria, they are limited in how much they can do after being weakened by Israel.
