Good afternoon, I'm _____ with today's episode of EZ News. Tai-Ex opening The Tai-Ex opened up 19-points this morning from Friday's close, at 25,494 on turnover of 4.6-billion N-T. The market closed at a new high on Friday as it notched up a fifth consecutive trading session - with buying fueled by lingering optimism over a the U-S Federal Reserve cut its interest rates later this week. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing contributed about 160 points to the Tai-Ex's rise and help send the electronics index up by 1.12-per cent. Government sends agricultural buying mission to US The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says a delegation is making its annual visit the U-S this week to purchase American agricultural products. According to the ministry, this year's mission is taking place under the title "agricultural trade goodwill mission (親善訪問團)." It's being led by Agriculture Minister Chen Jun-ji. The foreign ministry says the mission's first stop is Washington, D.C., before it splits into three groups - a soybean and corn group, a wheat group and a beef group. Those groups will then travel to different parts of the U-S, where they will be meeting with local politicians and farmers' associations. National Military Museum to open in 2027 The Military News Agency say the National Military Museum is now scheduled to open in 2027. The museum is currently under construction in Taipei and is already more than two-thirds complete. According to the museum's preparatory office, the venue will feature various types of retired weapons systems and platforms including an M-5-A-1 tank, an F-5 fighter jet, an M-I-M-23 HAWK missile and an OH-13 helicopter. The museum's preparatory (籌備的) office is also touting the seven-story building's 30-meter-high lobby and a corridor flanked by installations inspired by color guards and marching bands .. .. saying they have been designed to create an "awe-inspiring atmosphere" that reflects the discipline of the nation's armed forces. Spain Cycling Tour Cut Short Due to Protests Spanish authorities said more than 100,000 people took part in the latest pro-Palestinian protests that interrupted the final stage of the Spanish Vuelta and forced organizers to cut short the Grand Tour event on Sunday, capping a campaign of disruptions. The central government’s representative for the Madrid region said that authorities estimated more than 100-thousand people were on the streets during Sunday’s protests which criticized the presence of the Israel Premier Tech cycling team. Officials say two people were detained by police and 22 people were injured, none of them seriously. The number of protesters could not be independently verified (驗證). Visma-Lease a Bike rider Jonas Vingegaard was confirmed as the overall winner of the three-week cycling race.
