Speaking at the opening ceremony, Peng said the archives is an important public infrastructure project that reflects the government's long-term efforts to preserve and make the nation's intellectual assets (資產) accessible. The archives began trial operations on September 2 and President Lai Ching-te presided over an opening ceremony on November 17. The N-D-C deputy minister says over 200,000 people have already visited the National Archives in New Taipei's Linkou District.
