Ezekiel Chapters 20-21

In this episode, we read Ezekiel chapters 20 and 21, where God traces Israel’s long and painful history of rebellion, even from the time He first brought them out of Egypt. Again and again, God showed mercy, delivered them, and gave them His laws — yet the people continually turned to idolatry and disobedience. These chapters reveal both God’s patience and the sorrow that comes when His grace is repeatedly rejected. Chapter 21 shifts to the sobering reality of coming judgment, as God’s sword is unsheathed against Jerusalem. Through vivid imagery, God shows that the time for warning has passed and that consequences are now unavoidable. Yet even in judgment, God’s purpose is not destruction for its own sake, but to bring His people back to a true knowledge of who He is. These chapters remind us that God remembers every act of faithfulness and every act of rebellion — and that His desire is always for repentance, restoration, and hearts that truly belong to Him.
