When we continue to allow publically traded companies to discriminate against potential customers and users due to political bias or other biases we are not allowing the freedoms of the Constitution to be expressed in the digital town square. Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, and others have been given protections as platforms that give them freedom from lawsuits. They now have taken the role of publishers deciding randomly who gets to stay and who gets to go and recently more based on politics. This discrimination undermines our ability to communicate where social media is now the chosen form of communication. Would this bias be allowed on previous forms of communication?
