Welcome to the tweet trends podcast. Hey, what's trending today? Hey, I mean, hey girl, and you are tuned in to tweet trends. It's the quickest way to find out what's trending today Got a question is failure an option.

Let's get started. Well hello and welcome back to tweet trends Today's episode pickybacks off of the last episode So if you missed that one you might want to stop here Go check that one out and then come back because then it'll give you a better idea of where I'm coming from and why I'm even talking About this today, but long story short last episode the question came up is It too late in this episode I want to talk about failure because I feel like a person who thinks that it may be too late for them to do the thing that They've always dreamed about doing or whatever the thing is that they're wondering if they Didn't reach that goal Then they probably view themselves as a failure or something in their life that failed them and they're probably kicking themselves Because there are so many people out there Talking about failure and how that's a bad thing You know you hear all these motivational speakers and they'll tell you that failure is not an option and all these different things about When you fail when you fail when you fail, but I think it matters more about what your Mindset is and how you frame what failure actually is and what you can get from failure Because outside of that I just look at it as a semantics game when people are talking about failing and failure and whatnot and oh I'm not a failure. I didn't fail at that well, baby If you had a mad test and you didn't get any other problems, right? You failed it.

It's a failure There's no getting around that you have to then Take what you got and try to make sure that the next time doesn't resemble this time Even if you get one problem right this next time, that's better than what it was before we had zero right? Here's an example a scientist Makes a hypothesis and then they test it to see if that desired end result is what they get when they do this process Let's say the scientist was trying to make a green pigment and Thought that if they did xyz then the end result would be a green pigment They do it and it's a purple pigment. They do it again. It's still a purple pigment.

They're consistently getting a purple pigment What does that mean that means if the hypothesis failed? But if there's no such thing as a purple pigment to date then guess what that failure is still a success because it is Fixing something that we had no idea. We hadn't even thought about it being a thing, but it works Here's another one that's saying that if you shoot for the moon and miss you'll still be hit among the stars Yes, that's true. However, if your goal was to hit the moon and you did not hit the moon then that was a failure But if you reframe it to say but even if I don't hit the intended target There's still some positivity in the whole situation What I'm trying to say is that Failure is a thing you might not want it to be your first option But the thing that you definitely want to do is to reframe the failure If you want to go somewhere sit in the corner and lick your wounds by all means do it do it well get it done get it over with And then get back out there think about it this way if you go to a party and the DJ's just spinning those tunes and oh Went after the other oh, that's my song.

Oh, and then eventually what happens you feet get tired you go sit down Take a load off But then OMG they play your song. What do you do? Do you sit there and rub your feet like oh that's my jam? But I can't do it.

No, there is a renewed energy That gives you just enough to get back out there on the dance floor and dance some more Because that's your song Same thing with failure. You can sit for a little minute. You can take a break. Take a step back But when they start playing your song you got to get up get out and get something Why am I saying all of this I'm saying this because I don't want you to let people gas your head up Don't let them steer you in the wrong direction If you are that person that's wondering is it too late for me is it too late and you hear me say no boo is not too late Shoot your shot and you go to take that shot and it doesn't do exactly what you wanted it to do don't Focus on the failure portion of it sure you did not meet the mark that you set for yourself sure however Imagine what that failure is and how it's gonna help you one the best lessons are learned through failure Two some of the biggest name products out there came from a failure So three don't let people tell you that failure is not an option because it happens But when it happens what you got to do is you got to stop breathe and then say okay Here's where I am.

What's the plus about being here? What did I learn from this journey that put me here and now how can I use that information to get back over here? Where I really want to be or hey This ain't half bad what I ended up with it might not be what I wanted initially But this might be the thing that I needed because remember if you want to make God laugh tell him your plans tell him your plans because God has a plan to and If that plan isn't that thing that you so desire that you were trying to reach Hey, it's okay. There's something better You're not gonna understand it You're not gonna get it is is gonna go right over your head You're gonna be so mad that you missed the mark that you were shooting for that you're gonna miss the blessing that was over here to the side There was the actual thing that was for you.

It was waiting for you. So keep your eyes open Look for the blessings everywhere reframe the failure and Find that silver lining and I guarantee you That the forward momentum the progress All of that the shift is Going to be amazing Just because that one thing that you were focused on Doesn't happen in the time frame that you wanted to the way that you expected it to Don't let that cloud your vision Look around you Check out your surroundings and you very well may find that you're in a better position now Then where you would have been if you'd gotten the thing that you wanted Thanks so much for joining me for today's episode You know thinking about failure made me think about this book that I read called fail fast fail often If you struggle with the idea of what failure is and what it isn't then I recommend that you read this book Now I don't get any money off of this book This is free publicity for this book fail fast fail often But I believe in this book because it helped me to reframe my thoughts It helped to be able to read case studies about situations where a company thought that they had this as a product But the consumers were buying it and do something completely different with it that they hadn't even thought of so their plan was to sell widgets But the widgets weren't working with the consumers. So technically if the goal was to create an awesome thing For people to use this way, and that's a failure But in the book fail fast fail often what they're saying is your first iteration isn't gonna be your best one So fail at that one get it out of the way so you can get to revision number two or Three four five however many it takes for you to get to that place that you're trying to reach. It's okay Check in with your friends check in with your loved ones if they are having trouble and especially the young ones when it comes to failing Keep an eye on them, but let them know that failure can be a good thing.

It's all Dependent on how you see it. I'd love to know how you see it You know where to find me on Twitter and Instagram at he that that's at he why evt E or just look for the hashtag tweet trends Thanks for joining me. Have a great weekend. I'll see you back here again on Tuesday
