Faith Over Fear

Fear has a way of showing up uninvited—through uncertainty, news headlines, illness, financial strain, or parenting challenges. It whispers, “What if?” and tries to paralyze us before we even take a step. But God answers our fear with a louder, firmer voice: “Fear not, for I am with you.” Consider the story of Gideon in Judges 6. He was threshing wheat in hiding, terrified of the enemy. When the angel of the Lord appeared, Gideon didn’t feel brave or capable. Yet God called him mighty warrior and reminded him that strength didn’t come from within, but from His presence. Gideon eventually led Israel to victory—not because he was fearless, but because his faith in God became greater than his fear. In our families, we must model this kind of courageous faith. Our children are watching how we respond to pressure and pain. Will they see panic or peace? Will they see people who collapse in crisis—or those who cling to God?
