First Chronicles 6–8 records the families of Levi, Issachar, Benjamin, Naphtali, Manasseh, Ephraim, Asher, and the royal family of Saul.Some people served as priests and musicians. Others became soldiers, craftsmen, builders, family leaders, and rulers. Some were well known, while others served quietly behind the scenes. These chapters teach us that every person has a place of responsibility before God. You may not have the most visible position. Your name may never become widely known. But when you faithfully serve where God has placed you, your life matters. God sees the priest at the altar, the singer in worship, the soldier in battle, the parent raising children, and the worker serving without applause. The question is not whether your position is great in the eyes of people.
