Fake Influencer House-Sitter, 31 New Species Off Brazil, Officer Rugby Tackles Fugitive Cyclist, Van Driver Joins Police Chase & French Woman Freed After 12 Years Captive | The Daily Strange

In the UK, a woman named Ariana Rose poses as a wealthy social media influencer to land house-sitting gigs at luxury homes across Hampshire, Somerset, Suffolk, and Essex — then steals from them, including a £4,000 gold bracelet and a £159 Le Creuset pan. Scientists on a two-week marine expedition off the coast of Brazil discover 31 new species in international waters, exploring midwater ocean zones previously beyond human reach. Dramatic footage from a busy city centre captures a plain clothes police officer sprinting at a suspect trying to flee on a bicycle and bringing him down with a full rugby tackle — the clip goes viral and the officer is hailed as a "proper copper." In Margate, Kent, an armed officer flags down a passing van driver mid-pursuit and asks for a lift — the driver immediately agrees, and together they chase down and capture the suspect. And in Pakistan's north-western province, police rescue a French woman named Sylvie Yasmina and her five children after she contacts authorities claiming her husband has held the family captive for over twelve years. Five stories. All real. All strange. The Daily Strange — where truth is always weirder than fiction.
