FAKE NEWS Let’s make the lie big enough So everyone will believe it as the truth Assume and presume everything as fact a new dawn will imprison the youth For the darkest hour is not just before dawn It’s the realisation that dawn will never come The contentious cusp of mass belief Let a lie slowly bang the drum When fake news is more believable than real news When legal papers stop the truth that we choose With a foreign language of Dog-Latin counterfeits The fear of what is written and the false ownerships I can’t hear you but everyone is listening I can’t read you but everyone understands I can’t write to you everyone is under the spell When fake news reaches you no-one see the hidden hand If it sounds like fake news – it’s fake news If it tastes like fake news – it’s fake news If it looks like fake news – it’s fake news If it smells........ It came 14 years after Twain's death and so, "speaking from the grave", he felt he could be "as frank and free and unembarrassed as a love letter". The autobiographical chapters that he published years earlier in the North American Review, were selected more for their acceptability and potential popularity than for their completely true reflection of his inner thoughts. With the publication of Mark Twain's Autobiography in 1924, the world was introduced to a much more frank and less restrained Twain than had heretofore been seen or heard. Earwitness Lava for Good Podcasts One July night in 1995, Deputy Sheriff William G. Hardy was shot behind the Crown Sterling Suites hotel in Birmingham, Alabama. At the same time as the murder, at least ten people saw Toforest Johnson four miles away, at a popular nightclub called Tee's Place. But detectives zeroed in on him as a main suspect in Deputy Hardy’s murder anyway, ultimately resulting in Toforest being tried, convicted, and sentenced to death. For over a quarter century, Toforest has been confined to a 5’ by 8’ cell on Alabama’s death row.In 2019, investigative journalist Beth Shelburne began covering the case, going down a disturbing rabbit hole revealing many unsettling facts that cast grave doubts about Toforest’s guilt. The facts she found tear at the very foundation of the American criminal justice system: No eyewitnesses or physical evidence tied Toforest to the murder; the state tried to convict a different man for the same crime; and perhaps most disturbing of all, Toforest’s conviction relied on an
