Falling In — I’ve Always Been Her

from The Well Done Life Hosted by Falling In: I Was Always Her

What happens when you spend weeks celebrating women who are choosing themselves—and realize you’re one of them? Welcome to the final chapter of Falling In. When I started this series, I wanted to celebrate something beautiful I was witnessing: women navigating real life, making difficult decisions, embracing change, and finding the courage to choose themselves. Not because life suddenly became easier. Not because they had everything figured out. But because somewhere along the way, they recognized that they were worthy of the lives they wanted to live. What I didn’t anticipate was how much these conversations would teach me about myself. Over the course of Falling In, I had the privilege of sitting down with four incredible women—Diana Patton, Carla Hudson, Siobhan J. Middleton, and Leigh Allyson Smith—who shared their experiences with strength, self-love, freedom, grief, restoration, and embracing what’s next. Four different women. Four different journeys. And one beautiful reminder: Choosing yourself begins with believing you’re worth choosing. In this solo episode, I’m sharing what stayed with me from these conversations and how they challenged me to reflect on my own journey. We’re talking about honoring our bodies, creating space for joy and meaningful relationships, releasing other people’s expectations, forgiving ourselves for the decisions we’ve made, and trusting ourselves enough to keep moving forward. Because here’s what I’ve come to understand: We don’t always need to reinvent ourselves. Sometimes we simply need to recognize the incredible women we’ve been all along. At 53, I’m learning to appreciate every version of myself that helped me get here. The woman who made mistakes. The woman who took chances. The woman who experienced disappointment and kept going. The woman who is still learning, growing, loving, and discovering what’s possible. And I’m proud of her. I’m entering this next chapter of my life with gratitude, confidence, and a deeper understanding of my own worthiness. Not because I believe life will always be easy. But because I trust myself to navigate whatever comes next. And I hope these conversations have encouraged you to do the same. So as we close this beautiful chapter, I want to leave you with a question: What would change in your life if you truly believed you were worth choosing? Thank you for falling in with me. Thank you for listening, sharing, and making space for these conversations. This series may be ending, but the journey of discovering ourselves continues. Because you were always her. Now trust her.
