Falls Church School Board Regular Meeting - August 12, 2025

The Falls Church City School Board kicked off the 2025-26 academic year with a celebration of Meridian Boys Soccer team's Class 3 State Championship victory! The Mustangs' 13th state title ties a VHSL record, capping off their remarkable 17-2-2 season. Senior Fletcher Saaty was honored as Virginia's Class 3 Player of the Year, while the entire team maintained a 3.7 GPA, proving they're champions both on the field and in the classroom.The Board officially welcomed Dr. Terry Dade as FCCPS's new Superintendent and Jessica Jones as the new Board Clerk. Dr. Dade shared that he has completed over 45 stakeholder meetings in his first six weeks and is looking forward to spending more time with the district's most important stakeholders – students – starting this week.The Board adopted policy updates for advisory committees and outlined an exciting agenda for the year ahead, including discussions about technology devices, dual enrollment opportunities, and academic integrity initiatives.The complete meeting video is available on the FCCPS website and YouTube channel with helpful timestamps for easy navigation.
