Falls Church School Board - September 26, 2023

Student Performance and End-of-Year Budget Data During the Falls Church School Board's September Work Session, Drs. Peter Weilenmann and William Bates presented the annual Fall Student Performance data. The comprehensive data primarily focused on the Standards of Learning (SOL) results, providing detailed breakdowns by subject area, including History, Mathematics, Science, Reading, and Writing. The presentation allowed for an in-depth analysis and discussion regarding student performance and achievement levels in various academic disciplines, facilitating a better understanding of areas requiring additional attention and resources. Chief Operating Officer Kristen Michael also presented the final Budget Report for the last fiscal year, showing a Carryover of $2.2mil for the Board's consideration. Recommendations for using that money will be presented at the School Board's next Regular Meeting on October 10th.
