False Futures

In this episode, I sat down with Mathew Conner, frontman of rising indie outfit False Futures, for a deep dive into the journey behind the music. From growing up on the outskirts of Hull, surrounded by grit and quiet ambition, to chasing dreams in the creative chaos of London, Mathew shares the pivotal moments that shaped his sound and spirit. He opens up about the early bands that laid the foundation, the lessons learned along the way, and how those experiences fed into False Futures’ latest releases—a bold and emotionally charged collection that’s turning heads in 2025. We talk songwriting, identity, and the thrill of finding your voice in a crowded scene. And we had a good chat about how the video for latest single 'Under The Same Sun' came about. With future plans already in motion, Mathew gives us a glimpse into what could be next? And could this be the most well suited bunch of heroes yet?
