FALSE PREMISES: iT SOUNDED LIKE IT COULD WORK

from DISCUSSIONS FROM THE OTHERHOOD

Join the crew of OTHER SCI FI as we discuss False Premises: We'll be looking at elements that form the basis (or an important part) of out entertainment experiences but which upon further analysis donâ??t make sense. Then everything built around them unravels. For exampleâ?¦ General Zod, head of the Kryptonian Army. But who were the Kryptonians defending themselves from? In the history of Superman, Krypton only encountered one non-Kryptonian, Brainiac, who stole one of their citiesâ??and Zod didnâ??t manage to stop that. (Or maybe that was his predecessor and thatâ??s how he got the job.) If the Army served as a planetary police force why would there be criminals in such an advanced society? And if Krypton was so scientifically advanced, why did they have such a hard time believing their planet was gonna blow up? Was this their version of climate change denial? Join us to discuss this and your own head-scratchers.
