False Remedies Episode 54
from Bhakti Deep Dive Hosted by Gaudacandra Dasa
Modern attempts to escape internal burnout through external fixes often backfire, creating #Duḥkhauṣadham—the paradox where material remedies end up being more miserable and binding than the original distress. This exhausting cycle is driven by a flawed binary operating system (#Priyāpriya) that relentlessly pursues pleasing conditions (#Priya) while fleeing displeasing ones (#Apriya), constantly throwing fuel onto the blazing fire of existential lamentation (#Śokāgninā). Over-relying on temporary worldly safety nets yields only a fleeting illusion of peace, like scratching an itch that leaves the skin inflamed and sicker than before. True liberation is found not by seeking an isolated, impersonal escape (#Mukti), but through a radical shift to #DāsyaYogam—embracing #SpiritualStewardship over anxious proprietorship and channeling active #ParaDuḥkhaDuḥkhī compassion to help others wake up from the material trap.
