False Teachers [Wolves pt. 2]

Main Idea: False Teachers. No one believes that they can be easily tricked or influenced. But the truth is that no one realizes it until after the fact, when it is too late. While some dangerous teachers may seem obvious at initial glance, others are so clever and manipulative with their speech, many are led astray into following a wolf. In todays message, my goal is to give you tools to use in examinations of wolves, as well as, to teach you how to identify the red flags of a dangerous teacher. The three things that we’re going to focus on is: knowing scripture, understanding common sense, and leaning into discernment. As a baseline of understanding for today’s message, I do not think that EVERY person who has qualities of teaching falsely or behaving badly is a “false teacher” or “wolf in sheep’s clothing.” I think that sometimes people’s personality, ego and worldview has led them into a place that is questionable but unintentional. Which is why it is so important to have accountability, transparency and self-examination with humility. Especially if one is a teacher.   -- 1.
