Family Matters Pt 3

We hope you'll take some time and listen/watch the messages in this series. In part one we talked about what the church is and what it is not. Discussing that the church is a called out group, chosen for a purpose. The church is not a monument to be observed but a movement. In part two we talked about the purpose of the family, whether that is our household or the family of God. Looking at scripture we see that family and the church was designed to mature you, develop you and challenge you. This goes counter to our culture and our consumer mindset where we look for anything and everything to be easy, comfortable and convenient. How do we know when someone is mature? It's when they are found to be responsible. Asking ourselves, "are we responsible for our own faith (prayer, bible study, etc) or are we coming to church expecting them to do our Christianity for us?In part 3 we will begin to look at scripture and understand the traits of a family. Loyalty, unity, correction, provocation, honesty and love. These are just some of the traits that you'll see in a healthy family. How do we see them developed in our house? How do we see them developed in our church?
