Family of Origin: Luke 3:15-17, 21-22

Baptism marks the beginning of joining a new family- one started by Jesus. This family isn’t defined by race, allegiance to country, the will of a parent, or blood. It transcends our categories of “us” and “them”. It has the potential to reconcile the impossible chasms of fear and hatred amongst human identities and reconnect those alienated from God.
